Since the Tokyo 2020 Bicycle Road Race was held in the Tama region, we have been holding a full-scale road race event utilizing the legacy course in Tokyo.The first event was held on Sunday, December 3, 2023.

Distance Start Finish Men’s Elite 133.8km Musashino-no-mori Park In front of JR Ome Station Women’s Elite 33.5km lap course In front of JR Ome Station In front of JR Ome Station - Para-cycling experience and exhibition ride will take place around JR Ome Station and Fun Ride will place using the elite lap course; Amagase ground start, in front of JR Ome Station finish.

- The men’s elite road race will take place on the 133.8 km course (one-way race in the urban area using the Tokyo 2020 course), which is longer than the first world championship (72.6 km), as an international cycling road race (Continental Circuit class 2) officially recognized by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI).
- A circuit course will be set up to create many spectator opportunities.
- Fun Ride will be held on public roads.

- Recruitment of participants for the Fun Ride is scheduled to begin around February 2025.

"THE ROAD RACE TOKYO TAMA 2025" joins the UCI Road International Calendar
"THE ROAD RACE TOKYO TAMA 2025" (Men), which will be held on Sunday, July 13, 2025, has been officially approved by the UCI to be part of the 2025 UCI Asia Tour (Class 2). This will encourage more overseas riders in a higher level to participate, ensuring the race being more attractive and of greater value. Details will be separately announced later as soon as decided, including participating riders.

Tokyo Metropolitan Government Awarded "UCI BIKE CITY LABEL"
The Tokyo Metropolitan Government has been awarded the “UCI BIKE CITY” label by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI). The UCI BIKE CITY label is for cities and regions that are pioneering cycling initiatives, and Tokyo is the first city in the East Asia region to receive it. In cooperation with the UCI and other members of the UCI Bike City and Region network, we will further promote sports projects that utilize bicycles and advance the creation of an environment where all people can enjoy cycling safely and comfortably.
