What kind of race is "THE ROAD RACE TOKYO TAMA CHALLENGE 2025"?
This is a fun ride event where you can challenge the circuit course of “THE ROAD RACE TOKYO TAMA 2025”, which has become an official UCI race. After the elite men's race, it will be held on public roads (in Ome City) using part of the course. It will be held as an international cycling road race (continental circuit class 2) recognized by the UCI.
The course is 16.6 km long, with an average gradient of 5.9%, and includes several long climbs, including a 2.2 km climb, so it is designed for experienced riders. There will be time measurements for the two sections of the course that are mainly uphill, and prizes will be awarded according to the total time (e.g. gold stickers will be awarded to the top 25% of riders, and other prizes will also be awarded).
*There will be no awards for the top rankings based on the times for the two sections, nor will there be any measurement of the overall course time. -
Can I bring my pet?
For safety reasons, pets are not allowed in the venue (except guide dogs and service dogs). -
Can I leave my luggage with you?
Only hand luggage will be accepted.Valuables will not be accepted. -
Do you have a parking lot?
Parking for participating players will be available for a fee.Please come by car as much as possible, as the number of cars is limited. -
What happens if I am injured during the race?
The organizer will take out accident insurance. Please note that in the event of an accident, etc., only first aid and insurance will be provided. Participants will be responsible for any physical changes, accidents, injuries (including after-effects), etc. that occur during the event, and the organizer will not be held responsible for any of these. Furthermore, insurance does not cover damage, loss, or theft of bicycles (frames, parts), or personal belongings, not only during the race but also on the day of the event. If you are concerned about the coverage, please take out your own insurance. -
What happens if it rains?
The race will go ahead in the event of rain, but in the event of lightning, etc., the race may be suspended or canceled.
Information on whether the race will be held on the day of the event will be posted on the event website at 5:00 am on the day of the race. -
What happens if there is a typhoon?
In the event of a typhoon or other major disruption to the operation of the event, the safety of the participants will be given priority, including the cancellation of the event in the middle of the day. -
Do I need a helmet?
You can use bicycles (road bikes, cross bikes, cyclocross bikes, gravel road bikes, mountain bikes, and some small-wheeled bicycles), bicycle helmets (SG, JCF-approved, JCF-recommended, JIS, CE, CPSC, GS, etc., with safety marks), and cycle gloves (to protect your palms in the event of a fall). Also, please bring sunglasses, a bottle to carry drinks in, energy food, etc., as necessary. -
What is the temperature?
In mid-July, the average maximum temperature in Ome City is 28℃ and the average minimum is 22℃.The start time is during the daytime, and it is expected to be hot.The temperature will also depend on the humidity and wind direction.In any case, please make sure you are prepared for the heat! -
What should I do if my bicycle breaks down?
We will provide emergency repairs at the mechanic's booth in the venue, but please take your own bike to a specialist shop before the event day and have it serviced. -
Are there any restrictions on the type of bicycle?
The types of bicycle that can be used are as follows.
1) Road bikes (recommended), cyclocross bikes, gravel road bikes (recommended wheel diameter: 700C or 650C)
2) Cross bikes (flat handlebars are a must, recommended wheel diameter: 700C or 650C)
3) Small-wheeled bicycles (rigid frame type and wheel diameter of 17 inches or more are a must, recommended tire width: around 25mm, 8-speed or more)
4)Mountain bikes.

Is there a car inspection?
We will not be inspecting helmets or other equipment, or the bicycle itself, so please check and maintain your equipment before participating. If we find that your bicycle is in a seriously poor state of repair, we may refuse to allow you to start the race. -
Can I participate with a rental bike?
We will not be providing rental bicycles at the event. Please participate with your own bicycle. -
Are there any prizes?
We are also considering giving out participation prizes, so we will announce them on our website after we have made a decision. -

When does the call for participants start?
It will be held on Friday, March 14, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. -
How do I apply?
Please apply from the "Click here for entry" page on our website.Applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. -
What are the eligibility requirements?
Participants must be at least 12 years old (junior high school age or older) on the day of the race, and must be able to complete the circuit course (368m elevation gain) including the 16.6km climb within 1 hour. However, the time limit will vary depending on the wave start time, and participants must ride at a maximum speed of 18.4km/h within the time limit of 51-60 minutes. -
What is the participation fee?
The participation fee is 4,400 yen including tax. An additional entry fee of 264 yen will be charged. -
What is the maximum number of participants?
500 people. -
